MY ACCOUNT
Held every third Tuesday of the month, the educational series is provided by DSAF to its members - extended family and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Ed Series will continue to be held virtually via Zoom until further notice. (Zoom link provided below.)
Dental Care for the Down Syndrome Family, Presented by Dentably: Heading to the dentist can cause feelings of stress and anxiety. For patients with Down syndrome, these feelings can be much more intense. This presentation will provide parents and caregivers with information on preparing for their dental visits and provide them with the tips and care for instilling good oral hygiene habits. We will also discuss the most common dental problems seen in patients with Ds, when to choose sedation during your visit, and how to find an “additional needs” dentist, complete with a list of questions to ask when calling to make an initial appointment and how to prepare your family for the first visit. Finally, we will present information on what to expect as patients age and when to consider a denture lab.
