DSAF EDUCATIONAL SERIES #10: Self-Advocacy-What It Is and How Do I Become One

  • This event is offered by DSAF as a benefit to its members. Extended family and friends of members are welcome and encouraged to attend. If you are not a member but would like to attend, you can join for free, or sign up to attend with a member. Registration is required with number attending by second Tuesday of each month, please.


Held every third Tuesday of the month, the educational series is provided by DSAF to its members - extended family and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend. All sessions will be held at Rock 'n' Joe Coffee Bar at 5025 Lindberg St., Lincoln, NE 68516. 

To ensure there is enough space and plenty of goodies for everyone, please register by the second Tuesday of each month including an indication as to how many will be attending.

Self-Advocacy - What is it and How do I become one?  Presented by self-advocate, Dillon Denton, self-advocacy and self-determination are important as an individual ages and becomes more independent.  This session will focus on what self-advocacy is and why it is an important skill for an individual with Ds to develop as they age.  Most appropriate for High School and above.
