New- Schools Registration
We are sending out info to Lincoln Public School Coordinators that schools can pay a $25 registration with no shirts so classes & schools can support their students with Down syndrome at the walk. You can contact your coordinator either in Lincoln or other communities to encourage them to take part. We have had students' classes come to support their classmates with Down syndrome. People can then order just t-shirts of that student's team separately if they want. Unfortunately we do not have a school registration box on our web registration. A school could just mail in the $25 registration with a note of explanation attached & a general count of how many are coming so we can plan for refreshments. This school registration needs to be in no later than Wednesday, September 30. T-shirt orders are due by September 20. People would then need to stop at the registration table the day of the walk & say they are from that school.DOWNLOADS: 2009 Brochure AVAILABLE NOW (click on blue link at left)

The Buddy Walk was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to bring together a wide range of concerned individuals to reach out to friends, family and co-workers to promote awareness and inclusion for people with Down syndrome and to raise funds for education, research and advocacy programs. The walk has grown from 17 walks in 1995 to more than 280 nationwide (one in every state) with over 230,000 participants.
